We facilitate early learning in the whelping box to create Super Pups! We follow a UK methodology of working with the pups in the whelping box beginning on day one. Kay Laurence is a critical component of my work with the pups from day one through week 16. You can read about her and her work at Learning About Dogs.

Early Bio Stimulation and handling has shown itself in both ears and eyes opening early up to an entire week. This allows us to begin introducing a multitude of objects, smells, sounds, people, and tools that require problem solving early. Our pups are eager and able to learn quickly as they reach week 6 and can be released into our or any other service program at week 8 with basic skills well underway.

We follow operant conditioning principals and utilize positive reinforcement to shape and modify behavior into the skills necessary to insure success. We use clicker training throughout our program and insure our trainers are versed in timing and methodology of shaping behavior in the canine.

Our public access testing and staff certifications are provided out of Albuquerque NM. Our trainers are skilled in operant and clicker training modalities.

2 month old Scout learning "leave it"

Pups don't naturally realize their back end has power and can allow them to jump on platforms that are 3 feet or higher. With clicker training and multiple task learning, we can start with the basics "UP" and then with plenty of animation, we can get them to jump on. They are more amazed at themselves that we are.

We love puppies! We eagerly train puppies to prepare them for service. We train the client prior to placement of a service dog to assure they possess the dog-handling skills that will keep the dog's skills secure at home and in public.

We also provide animals to other organizations in need of a service animal at what ever stage it may be in its learning curve.

Our current placements extend nationally to clients as well as into other service organizations.

Occasionally an animal doesn't quite make the levels we require of our service animals. In that case, we may release a dog from the program into quality homes. These dogs always make high end companion dogs and are released against a list of prescreened and prospective owners. Please contact us for info.
